Interview: Bambi Eyez Blogger

So this is the first of hopefully many interviews to be featured on this blog. So Enjoy.

I convinced a good friend of mine and fellow blogger and graphic designer to answer a few questions about her blog Bambi Eyez http://bambieyezyeah.blogspot.com. Not only does her blog feature pics and artworks from various other artist but it also includes some of her own designs, some of which can be viewed below and purchased online through her blog. So check out her interview below.

1. Are you a fulltime blogger or part time blogger? Well I guess that depends on the definition of “full time” or “part time”… but I try to post a blog entry at least once a day. Even if it’s a awesome song I heard or great photo. Other entry’s I try and make longer and more involved, and usually are about inspirational artist that I might find in my day to day travels.

2. What other job are you currently working in? I work as a Designer for both print and multimedia.

3. What is a typical day like for you? Usually I work 9-5pm, Mon-Fri. Recently I have been getting back into Adobe Flash producing online banner advertising.

4. Do you have any other creative pursuits that you would like to fufil in the future?
I would love to be working full time for myself, as a graphic / multimedia designer on projects that are fun and exciting, hopefully with some inspiring people. I love working as a team on projects and seeing them through.

5. What life motto do you live by? Live in the moment. Learn from the past. Dream for the future.

Humble

Is being humble the key?

I find, and I am sure a lot of you can relate, that I am never quite happy enough. I might get a good job, but not really enough pay. I might get more pay, but do I really want to be a Graphic Designer. Could I be a fashion designer or stylist or even a makeup artist or photographer. It feels like I am always waiting for my life to begin… when hey guess what – it already has.

Do I just need to learn to be happy with what I have?
I guess you should never settle and always shoot for the stars, as they say, but being a little more humble also couldn’t hurt. Maybe I need to meditate and find some inner peace.

So here is the challenge I set myself and you.
Say thankyou more often, put someone else’s needs before your own, laugh whenever possible, take joy in a nice meal or a hot bath and if you are having a tough day just give yourself some slack and remember music helps everything.

I like the following song - Icecream by Muscles. In a world full of chaos - you need to take joy in the small things. Enjoy!

Big Cartel

Big Cartel: Online store

I having been looking into starting my own fashion line and went to see a lady in Fashion PR to get some advice. She referred me to a website called Big Cartel (a website where artists set up shop) and advised me that this is a great way to sell your products online and is viewed as a more professional selling tool than the famous Etsy. So how do you use it?

1. Startup: Use your store admin to setup your store, add your products, and customize your design.
2. Sellout: When orders come in, the money and order info are sent directly to your PayPal account.
3. Shipit: You package up your products and ship them off to your eagerly awaiting customer.

The great thing about Big Cartel is that it calculates how much stock you have and once sold out it automatically puts the sold out sign up.

So how much?

Well if you just want to test the water with it there is a free version and than to increase your product limit it ranges between $10-$20 a month and you can also use your own URL.
So if you are looking to set up shop...online of course check out http://bigcartel.com

Lookbook

I want to introduce everyone to The Lookbook http://lookbook.nu/.

LOOKBOOK.nu is an international social experiment in style.

How does it work?
You upload photos of your looks, and browse others.
Vote up stuff you like--community "hype" determines which outfits show up on the front page.
If people hype your looks, you gain "karma" which builds your reputation as a stylist.

So this site is great if you are a budding fashion designer or stylist wanting to gain exposure. It is also a great way to connect with other cool blogs. Like http://jennyjanssons.se and http://www.theoliviaalo.blogspot.com/ Below are a mixture of images I found off the Lookbook site. Check them out.

Lauren Conrad

So as you have probably already guessed I am a little obsessed with The Hills so i thought I would throw in some Lauren Conrad. This girl I have to say I underestimate. She has already published 3 books, has a fashion line and starred in 2 successful reality shows.
