Pink Lips

I love the photograph in this picture - the one of the girl with the pink lips. Reminds me of something you would find on the set of Gossip Girl. I can't really tell you whos work it is but I can direct you to the website where I found it www.marcecko.com Mark Ecko is a talented guy so well worth checking out.

Forever 21

In anticipation of my shopping splurge this weekend I have been trawling fashion sites (not sure how that is different from the usual but anyway) and I found a few cute things on the Forever 21 website. I am not aware of them having a shop in Brissie or even Australia so I might have to put in an online order but they are so cute and actually quite cheap. I need to stock up on some accessories too. Chunky earrings, belts, headbands. Gosh I am frothing at the mouth just thinking of it. Oh need some more leggings too. Gee I feel sorry for my bank account right now.

Jay-lord of Knoxley

A good friend of mine is in her last year at uni studying visual arts and below are some of the crazy good pen and ink drawings that she has done. I would never have the patients to do something like this! She does not currently have a website/blog so I cannot redirect you to her other works but hopefully she will get something up soon so I will let you know.

To explain the title of the post - My friends name is Jay and some how during uni she landed this bizzare nickname Jay'Lord Of Knoxley, which I still love to call her.

Rip It?

I recently watched the stupidly-addictive Jersey Shore series, about a group of young, image-concious individuals who shack up in Jersey Shore for the summer. Anyway the girls on the show flaunted ripped tees and dresses almost the entire series - a fashion which I thought had gone out in the 90s. But since than I have noticed the old ripped tee everywhere. Are they coming back?

In the case of Lekuin - I think it is.

Leticia Garcia is the creator and designer of a very funky and innovative fashion line called LEKUIN. The concept of LEKUIN is to use and recycle only organic materials.

Summa wardrobe staple

OOhh how adorable are these headbands from Berman. Headbands have officially been added to my must-have summer wardrobe.

Summa fun!

I have been resisting the shops for over a month now and am dying to get in there and stock up on some summer goodness. But I need to maintain my budget – which I have been blowing lately – so I have put together some cute items that won’t cost both your arm and your leg. Most of these items are under the thirty dollar mark wohoo!

Dance the way I feel

I read the lyrics to this song and I just can't figure out what the meaning of it is.

The way I see it the song is about how in a world full of judgement, pain, struggles, happiness, loss, gain - at the end of the day we are just animals and we will dance. Life can just be simple if we don't complicate it with our minds.

Break the mould and find some magic

Routine. No matter who we are we always find it taking over our life. Once we are in our routine we get comfortable and once we are comfortable it is hard to break out of it. The wheel of life. If you are feeling stale in your life I have one piece of advice to give to you. You have to break the mould to find the magic. Now it could be something as big as buying a one way ticket to Beonus Aires with only the clothes on your back or it could be going out for breakfast on a weekday before work. Break the mould and find some magic.

Yolo-ing

So I have been compiling images I like over the past week and I thought I better post some of them. Just a mixture of art and fashion. Enjoy!

On a different note - I heard the concept YOLO today (you only live once!). It is a term used like - I was out Yolo-ing today. I thought it was a bit cute and thought I would share it. So next time you are out enjoying a coffee or indulging in life remember you are Yolo-ing.

Cupcakes and more Cupcakes

Myself and two of me friends from work, Katrina and Emma, decided to register for the Cupcake day for the RSPCA. Katrina wanted to bake some cookies and brownies and me and Emma were to create the cupcakes. So me and Emma met up at one O'Clock on a sunday and purchased our ingredients that we hoped would make about 50 cupcakes.. Oh and we also purchased a bottle of wine. Anyway 7 hours later we came out on the otherside with 50 interesting 'they have character' cupcakes,  sore tummies (from chocolate overdose) and slightly intoxicated from the second bottle of wine that we decided to purchase. Oh well it was fun and we raised $118.. not a bad effort.
