I am in the middle of making some big decisions in my life and when I find myself getting a little stressed about it I remember this quote.

I have been trying to cut back on the amount of weekends I waste waking up with a hangover and being completely useless all day long - although I believe these weekends are necessary as well - I just want to cut back. So I have been feeling very refreshed lately and slightly richer (yay) and have even found myself doing morning walks. So today - even though it was a little rainy - I decided to venture out for a Sunday morning walk and get a coffee. Methyr village in Brisbane has nice little coffee shops so I stopped in at one and ordered a skinny latte and than pulled up at a table to read a magazine. I looked around for one of those rediculous celebrity gossip mags - the ones that are pretty much full of shit but I sometimes can't help myself- but couldn't see one so I settled for a little arts mag that I had never seen before and can't even remember the name to tell you. But anyway I found an article in it about an amazing talented artist Gemma Correll, who created these gorgeous drawings in this post. Check out more of her work here.

I was drawn to this website first of all becasue I liked the design of the site and thought I could use it as inspiration in the future. But when I started to read what the site was about I discovered it was actually really touching and beautiful. 31 Bits sells jewellery made out of recycled paper created by women in Uganda . The project is designed to help women in uganda build a better life for themselves.

bazzar and breakfast

I made muesli and blueberries for breakfast this morning and ate it out on the verandah with a mag. No TV... just fresh air. This is something I might do on a Saturday or Sunday but not usually on a workday… workdays are usually rush rush for me. But I decided to get up a little earlier this morning and have an extra 5 minutes to myself. With everything that’s been going on in Japan it really makes you stop and think what is really important in life and that you really do need to stop and appreciate the small stuff.

sunday lunch

After the massive weekend I had last weekend and than being sick all week, I decided this weekend I would have a quiet one...besides I promised myself after Future music festival I was going to go into hardcore saving mode for next years travel goal (EUROPE!). So a very lazy weekend it was. I finally had time to do some of the things I had been putting off for weeks.... washing and more washing...cleaning and more cleaning and I also decided to do a lil cooking. I pulled out my woman's weekly and found an easy recipe that was actually really tasty.

Ingredients: Sourdough, ricotta, roasted capsicum, garlic and spinache.
